Grassroots Action on Food and Farming (GAFF)
Campaigning against corporate control of agriculture

Who we are

Grassroots Action on Food and Farming (GAFF) is a new organisation helping to build a grassroots network of farmers, farmers groups, environmentalists and the public, to oppose the increasing corporate control of the food system and the demise of the small and family farm in the UK.
The power in the food system lies in the hands of the supermarkets, food processors, and other corporate middlemen. The price of food in our shops rarely reflects the price paid to the producer. Currently farmers get only 9p of every pound spent by consumers. Farmers say they can't deliver landscape, nature, food safety and animal welfare at this price.
GAFF aims to raise awareness about the negative impact of large scale, corporate food production and of the power imbalances in the food chain, whilst also gaining public support for small scale, localised food production.
GAFF works closely with Corporate Watch on researching the corporations involved in the UK food industry.
