Don't Bypass Bargoed
Local campaigners' site opposing bypass and supermarket development in Bargoed, South Wales, where Caerphilly County Council plan to regenerate the town centre by, er, removing all passing trade and supporting a large new out-of-town supermarket, costing a total of £17.4m under PFI. And just to add insult to injury, the bypass will cut straight through Bargoed Country Park, recently restored to public green space from the spoil tip of the defunct colliery.
